Need photos for your website? Getty images have the answer!

Internet photo agency Getty Images have made history by making 35 million of their previously costly images free to use, in an effort to combat piracy.

The move opens up a large number of images, including ones of sporting events, celebrities and musical events, for free use on your website through the use of a special embed code that will be provided through the Getty website on qualifying images. The decision, which is primarily intended to combat image piracy, means you may no longer need to spend hundreds of pounds for access to quality imagery for your website (although many of the embeddable images are restricted to editorial use only). The only downside is that you are required to have the “Getty Images” logo and photographer credit below, as the company will aim to make up for potential losses by driving more traffic to its website.

So what are you waiting for?! Head over to the Getty Images website now and see if there’s anything that you could use on your site. If you need some help placing new images on your site, don’t hesitate to get in touch!
